Beat-making service
1. Custom Beat
Custom beats are created based on your musical direction and can be ordered in three different song structures.

Each custom beat includes an exclusive license, individual stems, and 2 rounds of revisions. A production credit ("Prod. by A-Whirl") is required.

All structures include an intro, two verses, and an outro.
-
Additional verses (third verse onward) are available at an extra charge per verse.

Each section is limited to 32 bars. If you need longer sections, please contact me in advance.

A bridge is a short, contrasting section, often with a quieter or different arrangement, typically placed between the second verse and the final verse. A part sometimes inserted between verse and chorus will be called "pre-chorus."

Changes to tempo or time signature are charged separately, following the same pricing policy as Drum Track services.

More than 3 tempo or time-signature changes require a custom quote.
2. Drum Track
Drum Track services provide drum programming to complement your existing acoustic recording.

The Basic Drum Track includes kick, snare, and hi-hat.
-
Toms and percussion can be added for an additional fee.
-
A bass part following your existing chord progression is also available as an add-on.

All Drum Track services include individual stems and a buyout. No production credit is required.

Songs are limited to 4 minutes and must follow a simple song structure.

Each Drum Track includes 1 round of revisions. Additional revisions are charged separately.

A tempo or time-signature change is counted once for each new tempo or meter introduced. Returning to the original tempo or time signature also counts as a change.

More than 3 changes require a custom quote.

Key changes are free for Drum Track services alone and are included at no additional cost when the Bass add-on is selected.
3. Additional Changes & Revisions

Additional verses, tempo changes, time-signature changes, and revisions are charged according to the applicable rates listed in the pricing tables.

Returning to the original tempo or time signature counts as an additional change.

Requests beyond the defined service scope may require a custom quote before work begins.

Arrangement service
1. Lite arrangement

Lite includes four parts: drums, bass, keyboards, and guitar.

Drums, bass, and keyboards are programmed using virtual instruments.

The guitar part included in Lite is performed and recorded by me based on the initial demo.

New guitar solos or additional guitar phrases requested after the initial demo are charged separately.

Changes to guitar parts already included in the initial demo are covered by the standard revision allowance.

3. Arrangement Scope & Limitations
Both Lite and Full arrangements are based on a simple song structure and are subject to the following limitations:

No changes to tempo, time signature, or key.

Up to 3 verses.

A repeating hook (chorus).

Up to 1 bridge.
-
Maximum song length: 4 minutes.

Maximum of 32 bars per section.

Includes 2 rounds of revisions per track.
4. Part Count & Additional Instruments
-
Lite covers 4 parts: drums, bass, keyboards, and guitar.
-
Additional parts beyond the initial 4 are charged separately.
-
Percussion is priced according to the drum track rates.
-
Ensembles and vocal harmony design are charged at their respective rates.
-
Individual instruments, such as flute or violin, are charged at $60 per part.
-
A section featuring two interlocking instrumental parts is counted as two individual instruments.
-
A section featuring three or more interlocking parts is classified and priced as an ensemble, regardless of instrument family. Ensemble parts do not count toward the Lite or Full part limits.
5. Additional Structural Changes

Changes to tempo, time signature, or key are charged at $25 per change.
-
Returning to the original tempo, time signature, or key also counts as a change and is charged accordingly.

More than 3 changes will require a custom quote.

Songs with 4 or more verses require a custom quote.

Major structural changes or arrangements beyond the scope described above will also be quoted separately.

Composition service
1. Composition Scope & Limitations
Composition services are based on a simple song structure and are subject to the following limitations:

2. Lead Sheets & Main Riffs

A lead sheet is included with composition services.

The main riff is written out as part of the composition.

When a band arrangement is added, the main riff is performed and recorded as part of the guitar arrangement.
-
With Composition Only, the main riff is provided in written form but is not recorded.
-
For arrangement-only services, a lead sheet is available at an additional cost.
3. Composition & Arrangement Revisions

Composition services include 2 rounds of revisions to the proposed melody.
-
If a band arrangement is added to a composition, the arrangement includes its own 2 rounds of revisions.
-
Composition revisions and arrangement revisions are treated separately.

Rights & General Terms
1. Songwriting Rights & Credits
Composition Services

The underlying songwriting rights remain with me as the composer.
-
Composer credit (Music by) is required in the official credits.
-
I will register as the composer with ASCAP, the performing rights organization.
Client-Provided Melodies & Co-Writing
-
If you provide your own melody and chord progression, you retain the songwriting credit as the composer, and I am credited as the arranger.
-
If I contribute new melodies, chord progressions, or song structures to your existing song, we will be credited as co-writers.
-
In such cases, songwriting splits will be discussed and mutually agreed upon before the work is finalized.
Usage License

You receive an exclusive license to record, release, and perform the completed composition.
-
This license also allows you to sublicense these rights to record labels, distributors, and other relevant parties.
-
Arrangement credit (Arranged by) is required whenever arrangement services are provided.
2. Master Recording Rights

Master recording rights belong to the party who pays for the production of the master recording.
-
Master recording rights are separate from composition and arrangement services, which are provided on a fee-only basis.
-
Composition and arrangement fees do not include ownership of the master recording.
3. Delivery Schedule
-
Turnaround times begin once the project brief has been finalized and the initial payment has been received.
-
Time spent waiting for client feedback, approvals, or requested materials is not included in the estimated turnaround time.
-
Any significant changes to the original brief or project scope may affect the delivery schedule and may require additional fees.
4. Additional Services & Fees
-
Services not explicitly included in the selected service level are charged separately.
-
Additional instruments, percussion, ensembles, vocal harmony design, lead sheets (for arrangement-only services), and other optional services are subject to their respective rates.
-
Additional revisions beyond the included allowance are quoted separately before proceeding.
5. Separate Music Production Agreement

Music production services are covered on a separate page and under a separate agreement.
-
Under the Music Production Agreement, the client retains ownership of the master recording, while I receive a 5% share of the master recording revenue.
-
These production terms do not apply to composition or arrangement services unless a separate production agreement is entered into.

Recording Options
Guitar and bass recorded by me as the engineer. Recorded at a rehearsal studio in Tokyo. On-location recording is available by request (Tokyo area only). Analog reamping means I play your DI track through a real amp and record it with microphones. No amp simulators.

One day holds up to 5 hours and 2 tracks. Three or more tracks are split over separate days, each priced from the table. Studio fee and gear setup fee apply each day.

If a rehearsal-studio or analog reamp recording does not go well, we either reschedule the session or fix it with audio repair. If the problem comes from my recording, the repair is free.
ON-LOCATION RECORDING - BY REQUEST
Recording at your own space depends on the room and the power, so I quote it case by case after seeing photos of the venue. If the space is not suited to recording, I will suggest a rehearsal studio instead.

Tokyo area only, reachable by public transport. You secure the space and cover any venue fee. Travel time and public transport fares are included in the quote.
Packs
Buying songs together costs less per song. The basic pack is one song, the EP pack is three songs, and the album pack is six songs. The prices below are for the base service for each packs.

Terms & conditons
1. Package Validity
-
The validity period is 3 months for the Basic Package, 6 months for the EP Package, and 1 year for the Album Package.

The validity period begins on the date production of the first track starts, not on the date of purchase.
-
Extensions are available at $15 per additional month.
2. Flexible Service Options
-
You may mix and match the following service levels within a package: Lite, Full, Composition Only, Composition + Lite, and Composition + Full.
-
For example, an Album Package could include five Composition + Lite tracks and one Composition + Full track.
-
Please select the service level for each track at the time of purchase.
-
The package discount is applied at the same percentage rate to the total regular price of all selected tracks.

3. Changes to Service Levels

If you wish to upgrade a track to a higher service level after purchase, you must pay the difference based on the regular price, without any package discount.

Downgrades to a lower service level are not permitted.
4. Additional Services & Fees
-
The package discount applies to the base service fees only.
-
Additional charges for extra parts, ensemble arrangements, harmony design, sheet music, instrumental performance, recording, additional revisions, and changes to tempo, time signature, or key are billed at their regular rates and are not eligible for package discounts.
5. Production Schedule & Delivery
-
Tracks are produced and delivered one at a time. Work on the next track will begin after the previous track has been delivered.

Standard turnaround times for each track are as follows:

Lite: 3 weeks

Full: 4 weeks

Composition Only: 3 weeks

Composition + Lite: Approximately 6 weeks

Composition + Full: Approximately 7 weeks

Turnaround times do not include periods when production is on hold while waiting for client feedback.
6. Revisions
-
Each track includes two rounds of revisions.
-
The revision allowance applies individually to each track, not to the package as a whole.
7. Payment Terms
-
50% of the total package price is due at the time of purchase.
-
The remaining 50% is divided equally among the remaining tracks (excluding the first track).
-
Payment for each subsequent track is due before production begins on that track.
-
Production of the first track begins upon receipt of the initial 50% payment.

The following example is based on the previous album plan example above.
50% upfront: The whole pack price after the discount is applied ($3,910) x 50% = $1,955
Payment for each song after the first song: Remaining 50% ($1,955) ÷ the number of remaining songs (6-1) = $391
8. Cancellation & Refund Policy

If you decide to cancel your package midway through production, the fees for completed and ongoing tracks will be settled based on the applicable package rates.
-
For tracks currently in production, charges will be calculated according to the stage of completion. The applicable rates for each production stage will be determined in advance.

Fees for tracks that have not yet entered production will be refunded. However, any reasonable costs incurred as a direct result of the cancellation may be deducted from the refund.
-
Package discounts will remain in effect for all completed and ongoing tracks. Discounts will not be retroactively revoked due to cancellation.
-
The refund amount will be calculated by deducting the fees for completed and ongoing work, as well as any applicable cancellation costs, from the amount already paid.
-
If I am unable to complete the remaining work due to circumstances on my end, the fees for all tracks that have not yet entered production will be fully refunded.
9. Referral Discount

When you refer a friend, you will receive a discount on your next Basic Package purchase, as specified in the pricing table.

The referral discount must be used within 6 months of the referral.
-
The referral discount cannot be combined with introductory promotional pricing.
